A 22-year-old man has been charged with having sexual contact with a teen girl in a case that police say was always consensual.
Newtown police arrested Jonothan McCoy Thursday afternoon. The alleged incident dates back to July of this year.
According to police, McCoy's conduct was "consensual between the suspect and victim", but he is still facing a felony charge of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor due to the alleged victim being 15-years-old.
McCoy is behind bars on a $10,000 bond.
