An artist with a talent for decorating wine glasses will be coming to the Kenwood Macy's for a good cause.
The artist Lolita will be signing her hand-painted Pink Ribbon designed glasses at the local Macy’s on Saturday, Sept. 5.
The goal is to help sign people up for the Cincinnati Race for the Cure the following week! A portion of the proceeds for every Pink Ribbon glass will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Back in 2001 Lolita went out on a girl’s night out and ordered drinks with her dear friends, says her public relations representative Audrey Scolny.
For such a special night out, Scolny says, she noticed that the glasses looked naked and needed something.
With her artist background, she decided that the next day she was going to go home and start hand-painting and selling glasses out of her basement.
With two toddlers hanging onto her legs she worked night and day.
She’d sell about 2,000 glasses a year. Today Scolny says she sells over 4 million!
Each glass is designed to represent special moments and personalities in life.
They also contains a recipe on the bottom.
Glasses go for $25 and can be purchased at Macy’s or at http://www.thelolitastore.com/
The event at Macy’s Kenwood Town Center, 7875 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati will be Saturday, September 5, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
