The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says alcohol and/or drugs are believed to be factors in a serious crash in Madeira that sent three people to the hospital early Friday morning.

Officials say Erin Gray, 27, of Newport, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of I-71 when her SUV struck a Jeep around 2:55 a.m.

Crews had to extricate the driver of the Jeep, Amanda French, 18, of Amelia, and her passenger, Matthew Lang, 24, of Norwood. They were transported to University Hospital where they are both listed in serious condition.

Gray was also transported to University Hospital. She is listed in serious but stable condition.

Authorities say all victims were wearing their seat belts.

The accident remains under investigation.
