St. Xavier Student Hit By Car Dies

Last Update: 9/18 9:46 am

The St. Xavier High School junior who was struck by a car in Fairfield last week has died.

Sixteen-year-old Kevin Le, of Liberty Township, was struck as he crossed a street. He had been in a coma since the accident.

Police say Portia Hudson, of Hamilton, failed to stop at a red light while she was driving on Route 4 near Boymel Drive.

Le was in the intersection when Hudson’s car struck him. The impact threw him into the car’s windshield, over the top of the car and onto the street.

There's no word yet on whether charges will be pending.

Father Tom Howe, president of St. Xavier High School, has issued the following statement:

Obviously, we are deeply saddened by this loss of a bright young man in the Spring time of his life. Our first and best thoughts are prayers for Kevin and his family. It's hard to comprehend a tragedy like this, but our hope and faith point to the resurrection.
