The Kroger Company presented the Freestore Foodbank with a $100,000 donation Tuesday.
The check presentation at the Kroger Store in Cincinnati's Hyde Park Plaza helped kick off the second annual Hunger Action Month.
The check is the result of Bringing Hope to the Table, a partnership between Kroger and Procter & Gamble that generated $4 million in funds and food for communities nationwide.
Geoff Covert, president of Kroger’s Cincinnati/Dayton division Kroger and John Young, president of the Freestore Foodbank, participated in the ceremony.
Hunger Action Month is a program of Feeding America (the nation’s network of food banks) that seeks to raise awareness in the fight against hunger.
