CINCINNATI, Ohio -- A high speed chase ended with a crash, and a police officer getting punched.
Lincoln Heights police officers say they saw a Chevrolet Tahoe matching the description of a vehicle reported stolen by Harrison police just before 5 p.m. Saturday.
Lincoln Heights officers pulled over the SUV and ordered the driver, identified as Brandon Hyde, 39, of Bond Hill, to turn off the engine. Officers say Hyde pulled off at a high rate of speed and led police on a chase.
Hyde allegedly crashed on Reading Road and ran before officers stopped him on the ramp from Reading Road to the Norwood Lateral.
According to court records, Hyde punched a Norwood Police sergeant multiple times before being taken into custody.
Officers say they saw Hyde throw something out the window during the chase, but they haven't been able to recover it.
Hyde is charged with driving under suspension, failure to control, assault on a police officer, fleeing and eluding, receiving stolen property, reckless operation, tampering with evidence and obstructing official business.
He's scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning.
