A Cincinnati city council member wants to make sure that the city’s money troubles don't shut down community centers.
City council’s finance chair Laketa cole wants to keep all pools and recreation centers open. So, she is proposing to make cuts in other areas, including asking many city employees to take a six-day furlough.
"The next step in the process is to provide all members of council with the working draft document for review over the weekend as I have put out that process and then on Monday hopefully w will have a final budget to be passed,” Cole explained.
The full city council could vote as early as Wednesday on a final budget plan for 2009.
