A local family-owned company is celebrating its century mark.
In 1909, Bill Westerhaus' grandfather walked around with a pinball machine and a guitar to earn money. Now, Pioneer Vending employs more than 60 and services close to 1,000 restaurants, bars, and bowling allies.
They supply and fix arcade games like Miss Pac Man, to pool tables and juke boxes. This weekend they will hold an open house for their clients to thank them for their success.
Terri Westerhaus summed it up by saying, "We are proud to continue to grow and run a successful business for three generations."
