Duke Energy is teaming up with Green Energy Ohio to get more people to use solar power in the Tri-State.

Green Energy is sponsoring a nation-wide tour to highlight the advantages of using solar energy.

Hamilton County has more than 20 sites featuring clean energy technologies.

The largest solar usage is at the fire station in Sycamore Township.

Officials say right now is the best time for the transition and the initiative will bring more green jobs to Ohio.

"Solar can work, wind can work here in Ohio and the best way to do that is to have a tour that shows people in Cincinnati the few folks that have stepped up to the plate," say Bill Sprately, executive director of Green Energy Ohio. "And we think as the costs come down, this can become a real industry and go forward."

The weekend tour is free and open to the public.
