A tiff between Cincinnati's police chief and one of his assistant chiefs apparantly is over -- with the assistant chief getting his job back.

Sources tell the I-Team that Lt. Col. Richard Janke has been reinstated as the Administration Bureau Commander. Police Chief Tom Streicher had removed him from that position in April.

The I-Team watched yesterday as Janke and Fraternal Order of Police President Kathy Harrrell walked into the city manager's office, with Chief Streicher walking in soon after. At the time none of the parties would discuss why they were there. The I-Team's found out City Manager Milton Dohoney mediated Assistant Chief Janke's transfer and his request to return to his position. Chief Streicher had accused him of failure of good behavior for raising his voice during a meeting.

Sources say Lt. Col Janke will return to his office at police headquarters and assume all his former duties. He's served 29 years on the Cincinnati Police Department.
