This is no longer about the horse. We are way past that and who do we have to blame, only the Chief Himself. The Chief once again tried to bully, intimidate, threaten, and abuse his authority. Trust me, this is Standard operating procedure for him. His NARCISSISTIC PERSONALITY, ARROGANCE AND INFLATED IDEA OF SELF-IMPORTANCE are no longer acceptable. Lets recap her just a second. LTC. Janke is accused of raising his voice while he was making a valid point concering a very serious issue at a meeting concerning how the Police Dept deals with Sex Offenders and he is stripped of his command, loses his take home care, is banned from his office and told he will never be part of the administration again. Sgt. Moton, Lied on an officail document, brought false charges against a subordinate, then threatened and intimidated others under her command, and nothing happens to her. The Chief, Lied, tried to cover up Sgt. Moton's illegal behavior, he shut down an Internal Investigation in to her actions, and he absolutely abused his power. So my question is when is the Chief going to be stripped of his command. How can we allow him to continue to serve as the Chief. His integrity has been badly damaged. And to think this is all because someone is his Wife's friend. We are so fortunate she is no longer on the Police Department. I don't think this city should have to put up with the Streicher's crap any more. THE CHIEF MUST GO. WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH!

whateverpd and Big D, I agree with you both. It is about much more than a horse. It's a shame that this issue had to go this far when it could have been resolved if the integrety and honor of those who could have resolved it were not in question. I hope that the pending investigation brings closure to this issue and anyone found at fault has appropriate action taken against them. I think the horse issue was just the tip of the iceberg. If the police can't trust and respect each other how do they expect the public to trust and respect them? There are no doubt many fine, capable officers on the CPD. This issue, unfortunately, reflects on them also. Let's get it resolved and move on.

this is about much, much more than the horse !! this has been going on for a long time and this alot worse than what is being dicussed have happened. this is also not about being afraid of a 80 lb sergant hurting someone its about officers careers, no one wants a scarlet letter on their chest because they took on the chiefs buddy. officers were verbally abused and insulted by this sergant and favortism was shown to the sergants friends/classmates. So by filing a complaint what would an officer have to gain if the complaint were not true?? forget the steelers and the horse for one moment(that was not abused in any way) and think of the officers. If they are willing to mistreat their own officers how might they treat you.

I think you guys are missing the point. This is NOT about the horse prank. It's about an officer being asked to LIE in a hearing in order to protect a superior, and the fact that the superior officer who (allegedly) asked him to lie on her behalf may be able to get away with such an injustice because of her (alleged) friendship with the chief of police. I can’t imagine any motive for the actions of the officers (taping, filing complaints as civilians, etc) unless the situation were indeed true. Kudos to them for coming forward. Streicher is admitting guilt in so many words already, "certainly won't be the first mistake I've made in my life??" did he really say that?? !!! It’s like he's admitting guilt and asking for mercy before they even find him guilty!! Bottom line – Do not trivialize this situation by trying to make it seem like it’s all about dressing up a horse. This situation is about the civil rights of the officers, and, simply… about having the guts to stand up and do the right thing against the orders of a superior.

This all started over some stupid prank and has escalated to a point where it involves Cincinnati's top law enforcement officer. Who cares about the horse wearing Steelers crap? I do. It's my horse. As a taxpaying citizen of this city I entrust my horse to the safekeeping of the police dept. It's not their horse to disfigure nor is any other piece of equipment the city uses that is property of the taxpayer. This has been a total screw up from the start. Now that the City Manager has had to get involved lets see where it goes. The CPD does not have what one would call a sterling reputation and this sort of controversy doesn't improve the situation.

all over a dumb joke, who cares if the horse was wearing steelers crap.

My first thought exactly, foxeni! LOL LOL!!! Soooo, the Chief accepted the "probe" did he? Boy George?? Where are you?!?! I need your insight on this one! XDDD!

That wording of that headline is a little iffy. How about Probe of Actions Allowed By Chief or Chief Accepts Investigation ?
