In the constant search for ways to save time in the morning, more and more people are turning to a new hair treatment that promises to shave time off your a.m. routine.
So we decided to check out the
Keratin Complex Hair Therapy by Coppola treatment for ourselves, and put it to the test for Try-It-Out-Tuesday.
Salon Beck Downtown is one of the few local salons that offer the keratin treatment, which owner Sue Beck describes as a straightener without chemicals.
Beck says it actually makes hair healthier and lasts four to five months. "The hair is made out of keratin and they've found a way to put it in liquid form, to put back into the hair shaft for conditioning, as well as smoothness and shine," she explains.
Our tester has the "perfect" hair for the process ... curly and frizzy.
Stylist Katherine Turner of Salon Beck applied the solution to our hair challenged tester and let it sit for 40 minutes. The before and after pictures clearly show the results.
Most of the testers said it cut their morning routine by over 30 minutes, as their difficult hair was finally "wash and go." But, many of them still needed to use a flat iron.
The convenience comes at a steep price though, averaging between $200 and $500; however, some women say it is worth it just for the time it saves.
One tester even says she's hooked for life.
As always, this is an unscientific test with unscientific results.
