Cincinnati Police are concerned about city council's budget changes, which include six days of unpaid vacation.

Officers will begin voting on the furloughs throughout the day Thursday at the Fraternal Order of Police Hall downtown.  Voting will also take place at police districts across the city.  Officers will also vote Friday, which is the same day that the results will be announced.

Last month, city council approved the six unpaid vacation days to curb a $20 million deficit.

FOP president Kathy Harrell says she told the city manager that officers opposed the furloughs.  Harrell says City Manager Milton Dohoney suggested the FOP give $1.5 million in concessions.

The city is looking to save a total of $4 million through furloughs.  Without them, there's talk of laying off up to 100 police officers.
