Good morning –
It’s the longest weekend of the year. By an hour. I am very much opposed to daylight saving time but very much in favor of an extra hour of free time.
If you ask the government why daylight saving time exists, they will probably tell you it’s to conserve energy. Others argue that it doesn’t conserve any energy, and that the real purpose of daylight saving time is to stimulate the economy. When it’s dark out, people tend to stay inside, not spending money. Unless they’re me, with an obsession of buying things online. But only things that are a good deal. It’s a little strange when you get the mentality that you’re saving money by buying things.
Last weekend I took a trip to East Fork State Park with Josephine the Golden Retriever and I may do the same thing this weekend. The backpack trail is something like 50 miles long. Last weekend it was really, really muddy and really, really burry. Josephine ended up with hundred and hundred of burrs. And now has a pretty weird haircut because of it. Anyway East Fork is a good choice if you’re interested in seeing fall colors.
Oh and Happy Halloween... here are trick or treat times if you're interested.
My favorites from today's GMTS:
- Don’t Rap Your Order –
Some Utah teens ended up arrested after rapping their order into a McDonalds drive-through. The worker called the cops, apparently fearing for her safety. I’m not a big fan of rap, but I’m definitely not afraid of it.
– Marker-Faced Crooks –
Instead of using ski masks, a couple of guys in Iowa thought they’d hide their identities by drawing all over their faces with a black marker. Great mugshots ensue.
Normal words spellcheck didn't know:
doesn't (suggestion: doe sn)
online (suggestion: on line)
guys (suggestion: guts)
It should be noted that "guts" is also its suggestion for GMTS.
