Good morning –

There’s another Bengals blackout deadline at 1 p.m. today. Something like 3,500 tickets remaining. Even if they’re the cheapest tickets, which are something like $65, it adds up to about $225,000. I’m not expecting Ochocinco/Motorola to pick up the tab again. I wonder who will come to the rescue this time? Maybe no one? My prediction is that a blacked out game will result in more blacked out games, not more sell outs. Maybe they should be called Brown-outs, in honor of the team’s owner.

Larry Handley just informed me that his mad musical skills are on display in a YouTube video. He’s playing drums in this video, posted just the other day. You can’t really see him too well, but he’s back there behind the glass. Larry tells me he’s been playing drums his whole life. And having been in a band, I can tell you drummers are in high demand. Drummers and Meteorologists.

Speaking of videos, have you heard about the newest rage at libraries? DVDs! Free movie rentals! It’s not really all that new. But how about this. The Enquirerreported last week that at 11 of the 41 branches of the Cincinnati-Hamilton County Public library, more videos are being borrowed than books. Is it right for tax dollars to support this? Most voters apparently think so, having just approved a property tax levy to fund the libraries. Just wondering what you think. I find it interesting.

My favorites from today's GMTS:

- Yankees Win 2009 World Series –
I’m not a Yankees fan, but I’m a World Series fan. So it was entertaining to watch it all play out, and to watch Alex Rodriguez cry. Can't find a video link of it, but it was on GMTS.

- Playing Stabby -
A Colorado man was apparently skateboarding, tore his Blockbuster uniform, then stabbed himself in an effort to avoid going to work the next day and facing his boss about the torn uniform. Really sharp attempt at playing hooky.
