We're receiving so many viewer questions about High Def TV. Among the most common: Will your DVD players, old VHS videos, or video games play on a High Def set?
We tackle that in today's class in "HD 101."
Many of us have movie collections on DVD .... and lots of home videos on VHS.
The good news: Don't throw them away! While a new Blu Ray High Def DVD player would be nice to have...it's not necessary.
- HDTV's will play old movies through all your current players.
- Your old VCR will work.
- Your 5 year old DVD player will work.
- And my 1992 vintage SupeNintendo will play just fine too.
However, if you want your current DVD movies to look better, you should buy an upconverting DVD player for about $100... It will convert them to DVD quality.
