HD 101: Viewing Angle Problems

If you're buying a High Def TV set ...you need to know about viewing angles. Because if you're not looking at it head on, you could have a problem.

What you need to know about viewing angles in todays edition of "HD 101."

Experts say HDTV's are best viewed from a straight on position. Also, it is best to position the set at eye level ...not on top of a fireplace. You can strain your neck.

Solution? If most people will be watching the TV from an angle, because of couch or wall placement, then consider a plasma TV. Plasmas look great from any angle.

If you plan to watch head on, an LCD or Projection set will be your best value.

Just remember that many LCD's and Projection sets wash out when viewed from a sharp angle.
