HD 101: How do you find Channel 9.1?

Last Update: 6/11 6:54 pm

Viewers continue to email me and ask how to find Channel 9 in Digital high definition. It seems so simple....but it's not.

If you buy a new HDTV, and continue trying to watch Channel 9 on the same channel you've always seen us, then you will not get a picture after June 12th.  High Def/Digital signals are not on the same channel.

  • If you have an HDTV and an antenna, channel 9 in High Def is channel 9.1 (9 point 1). WCET, Channel 48, is 48.1.

  • Use the decimal point on your remote control to punch in "9 point 1."

  • No decimal point? Look for a dash, and punch in "9 dash 1."

  • If you have cable, we're channel 909 on most Time Warner systems, and 908 on most Insight systems. Time Warner currently provides FREE 9.1 on the basic cable.

However, channels may be different in some communities, and you will have to pay extra for the 900 level "HD Tier."

But you may agree that it's worth it once you check out our High Def picture.

As always, don't waste your money. I'm John Matarese.
