HD 101: Finding Channel 9 in HD

Last Update: 9/21/2007 11:54 am

It sounds so simple: Your turn on your new high def TV, and there's channel 9...The only station in the Cincinnati area broadcasting its news in HD. Only problem: The channel you used to watch us on, with your old TV, is not our High Def channel.

Yes, just because you've plugged in a High Def TV doesn't mean you're watching our news in High Def.

  • Rather, if you have Time Warner digital cable in Ohio, you'll find our HD channel on 909.

  • If you are on Insight digital in Northern Kentucky, its channel 908.

  • If you are using an antenna, satellite, or some analog cable systems, we are on channel 9.1 (Nine point one)

  • With most satellite TV services, the local channels they send you over the dish is basic analog...NOT High Def.

To watch us in High Def with a satellite dish you need to buy an old fashioned Rabbit Ears antenna at Radio Shack, Best Buy, Circuit Ciy, hh gregg, etc. You then switch from satellite dish to the Rabbit Ears to watch local stations in High Def. At that point, you will find WCPO HD on Channel 9.1.

As always, Don't Waste Your Money! I'm John Matarese.
