Cincinnati Bell to Stop Phone Book Delivery

Remember when you picked up a phone book when you wanted to look up someone's phone number....or find a local business?

Thanks to the internet and smart phones, fewer and fewer of us use the White or Yellow Pages. As a result, you may have received your last set of phone books.

No More White Pages?

Cincinnati Bell has just received approval from Ohio's PUCO to stop delivering White Pages phone books to customers unless they request them.

If you ask, they will still send you a book, or you will be able to pick one up at a Cincinnti Bell store.

Yellow Pages will still be delivered, as they are advertiser supported.

The Ohio Consumers Counsel, however, is unhappy with the plan... saying this should be an "opt-out" program, where everyone would get a book unless you say no.

However, Cincinnati Bell will save thousands, if not millions, of dollars this way.... and thousands of trees will probably say "thank you."

And don't waste your money.  I'm John Matarese.
