GEORGETOWN, Ohio -- The jury has reached a verdict in the 13-year-old murder case involving Richard Curtis.

Deliberating since Thursday, the Brown County jury reached a guilty verdict around noon on Friday.

Curtis was accused of killing his wife Linda in August 1996 in her home in Sardinia, Ohio. Prosecution argued that he shot and killed his wife, however, the original cause of death was reported as suicide. It was the absence of a gun which led to his trial.

Deputies had arrested Curtis in Ocala, Fla., and brought him back to Brown County back in February.

He will be sentenced later on Friday.
