Good Morning...It's Friday the 13th of November, 2009

Are you superstitious?

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
UC goes after its tenth straight win against West Virginia tonight. It's an ESPN2 game starting at 8pm. It's a sellout.  Wear Red.

WHAT TO WATCH?
I'm interested in how Brian Kelly plans to juggle quarterback Zach Collaros and Tony Pike.  He obviously wants to get Pike into the game, but under what circumstances?

DEVINE MISSION
West Virginia doesn't have quarterback Pat White any longer, but Noel Devine still lugs the ball and he's second in the Big East in rushing with 112 yards a game.  UConn ran the ball on the Cats.
Can Devine do the same thing?

FALCON CRESTING
Tyler Sheehan threw three touchown passes, leading Bowling Green to a 35-14 victory over Miami Wednesday night. Sheehan threw TD passes of 59, 2 and 20 yards.  Zac Dysert scored both Miami touchdowns in the first half on short runs.

GIVING IT AWAY
Miami lost two fumbles and three interceptions.  The Redhawks are 1-10, 1-5 in the MAC.

RUM RUNNER
Last Sunday, the Eagles Brent Celek caught a touchdown pass against the Cowboys.  As he entered the endzone, Celek appeared to back up to align himself in front of the TV cameras. He put his hands on his hips and raised his right leg.  The NFL believed he was mimicking a pose similar to the pirate on the label for Captain Morgan's Rum.

THROWING THE FLAG
Yahoo! Sports says the NFL banned the pose this week after it learned that a wider campaign was underway to get players to strike the Captain's pose.  Celek says he didn't do it, but an account executive with Captain Morgan's says Celek, the former LaSalle and UC product, was involved.

GUERRILLA TACTICS
The NFL calls this guerrilla marketing because they don't get a cut, nor do their TV partners.  For each time a player struck a pose, Captain Morgan was going to donate thousands of dollars to the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund, a nonprofit that helps retired NFL players.

STILL TRUE
This date in 1789, Benjamin Franklin wrote to a friend, "In this world nothing can be said to be certain except death and taxes."

Enjoy the weekend. Avoid the black cats.
See you on TV
