I am not going to pass judgement on her son just yet, until I hear if he was/was not in his right mind. It does not state how old her son is. First hand dealings with an alzheimers/dementia parent that I love more than anything. However if he does have issues and other family members or friends didnt step up because they did not want to get involved they will also have to answer to their maker someday.May she rest peace now.

The story states she lived there with her son. How old is he since she is 93? Does he have any problems? My mother passed away in September at 74 1 day before my dads 76 birthday. My father has alzheimers and all 4 of us kids take turns staying with him at night because at this moment he can still be in the home. However before my mom found out she had cancer 2 months prior to her death the 2 of them lived alone and up to her going into the hospital. Like someone else mentioned surely there were other family members that would check on them or her. I pray her son would not have done this on purpose. If he does have alzheimers or something of this nature he would not know if he fed her or even if he ate or even know how to pay a bill or ask for help. If he is in his right mind he will get his in the end.

Horrible. My heart bleeds for the elderly. Please check on our elders and elder neighbors. This man will be elderly some day and will know how it feels. So sad. As Crazypeas said so well, rest in peace dear lady, suffer no more.

This lady had to have had more family members than just the son .. Where were they and why didnt anyone check on the woman . I myself think there is a special place in hell for those that abuse and neglect the elderly .. Rest in peace dear lady you wont be cold and hungry anymore

This is terrible! Her son probally ate and stayed warm. How can someone do this to their mother? Expired milk from October! Down right nasty. I'm surprised she lasted as long as she did. It is a shame she was found a little too late. I'm glad she is not suffering anymore. She definatly had a will to live. Rest in peace. Your in Gods loving arms now.

Oh my gosh..that poor woman. To survive 93 years only to end up starved or frozen to death. How sad!
