Police Search For Escaped Inmate

Last Update: 1/29 12:40 pm

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says an inmate escaped from a treatment facility Wednesday night.

James Ayers, 31, escaped from the Woodburn Avenue facility around 7:30 p.m.

Ayers was arrested by Cincinnati police on January 15 charged with having a weapon under disability and possession of a dangerous ordinance.

Ayers was indicted on both charges by the Hamilton County Grand Jury last Friday. His bond was set at $150,000.

Investigators say Ayers may have escaped through a window at the facility, which is primarily an inmate treatment facility for alcohol and drug abuse.

Ayers is described as a white male, 5'11" tall, weighing 180 pounds. His last known address was in New Vienna, Ohio.
