Mariemont voters have a decision to make Tuesday whether to merge their fire department with the Little Miami Joint Fire & Rescue District.
Mariemont's village council members are backing the merger saying it could keep Mariemont from running into serious financial problems in the future.
The levy would mean $310 in new taxes for the owner of a $300,000 home. That's after the current levy is rescinded and the levy merging the departments is imposed.
Opponents of the merger say the council has overestimated the money that would be saved.
The Little Miami district currently covers Newtown, Fairfax and part of Columbia Township.
