WARREN COUNTY, Ohio -- The Little Miami school levy has failed.
This is the third time voters have rejected the district's plea for money.
The vote came in at 52% against the levy and 47% for it.
The failure means the state could declare a fiscal emergency and take over district operations.
The district was already operating at state minimum requirements. Junior high and senior high school sports and activities will be eliminated.
Busing for high school will not be reinstated.
The district already closed two schools and cut 88 jobs.
Gym, Art and Music are no longer offered to elementary students.
The levy would have cost the owner of a $100,000 home $243 a year.
