Diabetes is a national epidemic – 23 million people have it – and what's worse, it's growing at a rate of eight-percent a year.
Many people have the disease and don't know it, so take advantage of an opportunity for free glucose testing on Friday, August 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kroger Fresh Fare Pharmacy in Kenwood.
The American Diabetes Association is offering the tests and also urging people to sign up for “Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes.”
