Attorney Ken Lawson has been temporarily suspended from practicing law, under a Tuesday ruling from the Ohio Supreme Court.
Lawson has admitted being a recovering drug and alcohol addict and is awaiting a hearing before the court on whether he will be disbarred.
The Ohio Supreme Court ruling is an "interim remedial suspension" for Lawson.
It said that Lawson, "committed serious violations of the code of professional responsibility and poses a substantial threat of serious harm to his clients and the public."
The ruling orders Lawson to "cease and desist from the practice of law."
He also must notify all his clients and opposing counsel of the action, return client property and refund all advances for fees and expenses that were not earned.
Lawson could not be reached for comment Tuesday night.
