The house fire broke out around 3 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of Hasmir Hill in Versailles, Indiana.
Authorities say least five crews were called to the scene because they were concerned that the 90 degree temperature would worsen the situation.
Because of the location of the fire, water had to be trucked to the scene.
The home was a total loss but Firefighters were able to save a nearby barn.
One person was transported from the scene, but there is no word on the injuries.
