sickofthis get it straight food stamps and section 8 are federal programs not city funded. Laying off city employees is hurting working people. The city of Cincinnati is notoriously top heavy abd that is where the cuts should start..ex. who is that woman doing nothing with Dohoney.cut here and all the othe administrative hacke who are sucking up pay and benefits and doing nothing but postering and getting paid.If you cut 4 or 5 administrative positions in EACH department you will get rid of a load of useless fat. Do not cut the rank and file because these are the people doing the actual work for us taxpayers. What about unclassified, part time and temporary positions, go there next. Then deal with the city employees with more than 30 years, they need to retire and make room for current employees to try to live and feed their families

I say close all the pools, all recreation centers, end outragous food stamps to the lazy (most are fat, meaning they eat enough already!!) and end the section 8!! I work for the city, and I see my share of section 8 homes....i frickin work 40 hours a week, support my 2 children, and these lazy welfare people live beeter than I do!!! It makes me sick! Not to mention i have student loans to pay so I can work my honest living!! so why should they live better than most of us. I say the city should give the welfare money to the food banks, let the food banks buy the food and then let the lazy people go and stand in line there...at least they will not be havning the steak I cant afford! Its so sad...the working class is the people worried about the future...while the men and women who are on welfare. free food and free home, are not even worried...just lay there and make baby after baby....sicking! And if i have another stupid ass 20-30 year old young and heathly guy come up to me at the libery shell ask me for money...im gonna go loco! GET A JOB. And to those who are on welfare and section 8 reading this at your home and are all offended, 1, I have the right to, my taxes put food in your babies mouth and your mouth 2) I help put a roof over your head and 3) you shouldnt be able to read this! Internet is a luxury! if you cant pay for your own food, and own home, you shouldnt be able to afford internet! Finally, yea were america and most countries dont care if their citizens are homeless and starving, america cares to much......I come from parents who always told me...what ever life style you want...you work for it... what ever you wnat in life..you work for it....NEVER depend on anyone.....why should these welfare people want to work for anything when the government spoon feeds them...now all these police , fire, and others will loose their jobs....lets pray for all the hard honest workers that no one will loose their jobs.

If all of those employees are cut, that will CUT THE REVENUE. I guess they can cut more people after they find that out. Once you take in too much money, you start creating more programs and more services (and more departments) and you are NOT ready for lean times. The whole country needs to learn that.

I know that the welfare comments may bring ire from the ranks of those receiving them, but there was an article on WCPO about six weeks ago that stated a family of 4 gets $1050.00 per month in food stamps. I just have a problem with that, that seems very high. I use coupons and feed a family that size for less than that amount. What troubles me more, I paid for 3.66 families to spend more than me at the grocery store. I am confused as to why I should try, somebody help me understand

This is very odd, it's seems the CITIES IN THE HOLE ARE RAN BY DEMOCRATES.......ODD. Cincinnati, Dayton and Cleveland...Cincinnati is the rear hole....Dayton is the taint and Cleveland is the "well you understand"

Fire and Police have duplicate services in the following areas: HR and IT. Why is that the police has 100 admin staff and the city has about 25 HR for the whole city?!?! The Police also has 30 IT personal solely for managing the computers in the police cars and associated technologies, when the City of Cincinnati already has this in place. The same goes for Fire. It's time to clean house in the police and fire, and eliminate redundant HR and IT staff in the Fire and Police staff.
