3 Face Charges For Attempted Fertilizer Theft

Last Update: 7/02/2009 5:08 am
Three Clermont County residents face charges in connection to a burglary at the Southwest Landmark fertilizer facility in Pleasant Plain in Warren County.

Deputies say the two men, Matthew Paytes and Adam Williams, cut a large hole in the security fence and were attempting to steal anhydrous ammonia.

Deputies say Kathleen Johnson was nearby in a car.

Anhydrous ammonia is used in farming as fertilizer and is frequently stolen for use in making methamphetamine.
