There have already been several pool related deaths in the Tri-State this summer.

The Cincinnati Red Cross says its important for parents and caregivers to keep an eye on children at all times.

Aquatices Department Representative, Mark LaPille, says pool owners should also keep safety equipment right at the edge of the pool.

LaPille says even if you are a strong swimmer, it may not be a good idea to jump into the pool. A strong child that is panicking could pull you under.

LaPille suggest swimming pool owners keep a foam noodle, gallon jug filled with a few inches of water and tied to a rope near the pool. You could toss it out to the child and pull them in to safety. You can also keep a pole close by as well.

It's also recommended that children and parents never swim alone. You could get in trouble and not able to swim to safety.
