Canyon Fitness Studio is hosting "Fight Against Youth Obesity in the Tri-state."
The owner, Markeeta Canyon, says the program is designed to help children tackle childhood obesity through sports camps, self esteem workshops, and nutritional counseling.
It's run through her non-profit foundation called Poise Fitness & Athletics For Youth Foundation.
Today's event is at the Canyon Fitness Studio inside Proscan at 5400 Kennedy Avenue in Kennedy Heights.
Activities begin at 3 p.m. and will run until 5 p.m. for the open house.
The public is invited to the free event.
Kids are encouraged to wear their Halloween costume.

I Care For You! – Anything that you contribute lets the young person that you are supporting know their wellness effort and success are supported by you!
I Am A Helper! – $1,000 Sponsors a child in the program for an entire month, puts your name on the Wall of Sponsors!
I Am A Believer!-$5,000 Sponsors five (5) children in the program for a month [or one child for five (5) months]!
