The passing of Cincinnati Pops conductor Erich Kunzel has left many people across the Tri-State with memories of the maestro. The orchestra set up a memorial book outside Music Hall Wednesday to let people share their memories and messages.

Kunzel passed away from cancer at the age of 74 on Tuesday.

Mary Ann Westerfield works for the Orchestra. She said, "When he (Kunzel) was in the building, this place was rockin'."

The past few days have been tough for Arlene Anderson. As she struggled to hold back tears, she said, "(Kunzel was) Personality plus, he just made you feel wonderful"

Jeff Suess said he came down to Music Hall to give back to the legendary conductor. "Just pay tribute to a good man and a great artist", said Suess.

"He just lit up the whose place, even during rehearsals, you knew he was here," said Westerfield.

Some tributes are short. One person wrote "job well done" while another person wrote "we'll miss you". Others messages are longer, a full paragraph or more with specific details they liked about Pops concerts.

Another person wrote "You Rock".

For the hundreds of people who signed the memorial book, it was one way for them to honor a man who was larger than life.

The funeral for Erich Kunzel will be a private gathering in Maine. The Cincinnati Pops plans to hold a memorial concert to the Maestro in the future.
