South African Choir to Perform Free Concert

May 18th at 6 p.m. - at Crossroads

Authentic South African music returns to Cincinnati Sunday, May 18 when choir members from South Africa's Charity and Faith Mission Church present "Sounds and Songs from South Africa." This fusion of inspirational African melodies, exuberant movement and pulsating percussion will take place at 6pm at Crossroads church (3500 Madison Road at the intersection of Ridge).

Joining the group will be Cincinnati's own Super Choir led by minister, vocalist and radio personality P. Ann Everson-Price. This is a wonderful opportunity for Cincinnatians to enjoy live music from another part of the world, complemented by Cincinnati's own local talent!

Hospice of Cincinnati will host this evening of spirited, inspirational song as a gift to the Cincinnati community. Although there will be no admission charge, a goodwill offering will be accepted to raise funds for Hospice of Cincinnati's sister hospice in South Africa, Bophelong Community Hospice. Bophelong is one of a growing number of start-up South African hospices responding to the country's urgent need for quality hospice care, exacerbated by the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

Hospice of Cincinnati's collaborative relationship with Bophelong began in fall 2006 when CEO Steve West visited the South African hospice as part of a mission and outreach trip spearheaded by members of Crossroads. Two other members of the Hospice of Cincinnati clinical management team joined dozens of Crossroads members on the trip as well.

The entire family is invited to experience this fun and inspirational celebration in song! Bernard Watson, morning news anchor from WCPO Channel 9, will be the emcee for the evening's events.
