New jobs are headed to Butler and Warren counties. Intelligrated has announced it has big plans for growth.
Chris Cole , the chief executive officer of the high-speed conveyor company, says he plans to hire more than 250 people in the next three years.
Ohio Governor Ted Strickland made a stop at Intelligrated's West Chester plant on International Boulevard to be part of the official announcement.
The company plans to retain its 500 jobs in Ohio and 267 jobs are expected to be created. Intelligrated's corporate office is in Mason. It has another facility in London, Ohio.
Intelligrated manufactures, installs and supports high-speed conveyor and sorting systems for the logistics and retail distribution industry.
Cole says it's too early to say how many of the new jobs will come to Mason and how many will come to West Chester.
"As we sell product, the demand will dictate where we add the additional people," he says. "The manufacturing jobs will come to West Chester and London – and the engineering jobs will come to Mason and West Chester."
Cole adds, "We're growing because of the commitment of a lot of people in this company and the faith of a lot of customers that have seen the productivity gains that we can give them with our product and services."
Intelligrated's customers include Amazon.com, Dick's Sporting Goods and The Limited.
The State of Ohio has offered Intelligrated business incentives that could total up to $24 million.
The incentives have not yet been approved. Other states were competing for the jobs.
Ohio Governor Ted Strickland says it's important to support companies that can help pull us out of a global recession.
