Three years after moving its hub from Hebron, DHL Express is planning to return operations to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
The announcement was made by DHL officials after a meeting of employees at the DHL Air Park in Wilmington Thursday night.
Officials say DHL Express will begin using CVG as a hub for its international business later this summer.
The move comes after Kentucky officials reportedly offered $2 million in tax incentives earlier this year to the company to relocate operations from Wilmington to Hebron.
Before DHL combined its hub operations at the Wilmington air park in the fall of 2005, CVG served as its main sorting hub for over 20 years.
DHL says all current employees in Wilmington will be offered positions at the CVG facility. Former employees will also be encouraged to apply for the new positions at the CVG facility.
The transition is expected to be complete by mid to late summer.
In the meantime, the DHL Air Park in Wilmington will continue operations through the transition period.
