It doesn't matter where you go, people are sharing their Uncle Al stories.

Colors Cafe didn't exist on Tylersville Road in Mason when the Uncle Al show was on the air, but most of the people eating lunch there said Uncle Al was a big part of their childhood growing up in the Cincinnati area.

"It was just so much fun," said Paula Kohtz, who grew up in Finneytown. Now she lives in Deerfield Township.

Jennifer Highfell, of Mason, still remembers the dress she wore during her Uncle Al appearance.

The restaurant owner recalls his time on TV.

It was, "The excitement of knowing we were going to be on TV, even though we couldn't come home and record it," said Randy O'Neill.

Customer Kim Shaffer said she will never forget her friend's birthday party that was celebrated on the show.

The stories are also being told at the Mason Community Center where the television was tuned to WCPO coverage about Al Lewis.

His death has thousands of people pulling out their Uncle Al photos and videos.

Alison Moss, of Symmes Township, is a mom now, but in 1983 she was the little girl clapping and jumping with Uncle Al.

Thanks to the video recorder, she can be reminded of that fun day over and over again.

"I've watched it many times," said Moss. "Takes you back to your childhood."

Moss considers the video a piece of television history and she plans on eventually sharing it with her daughter who's nine-months-old.

"I'll definitely sit down with her and say, 'Mommy was famous one day -- and everybody watched.'"

At Facebook.com you can see how the television connection with Uncle Al Lewis has transitioned to the 21st century.

More than 2,000 people are members of the group called, "I was on the Uncle Al show."

The group was established before Lewis' death.

The number of members continues to grow and the current comments are all about the loss of Lewis.
