Last Update: 3/07 7:59 am

The Tri-state will say goodbye Saturday to "Uncle Al" Lewis, the man who entertained countless children on Channel 9 for 35 years.

The memorial service for Al Lewis will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in his hometown of Hillsboro, Ohio at St. Mary Catholic Church.

Lewis died last Saturday at the age of 84.

"The Uncle Al Show" started in the early days of television and continued through the mid-1980s.

"Uncle Al" is being remembered as a pioneer in children's television programming.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Highland District Hospital Foundation in Hillsboro or to the Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati.
