Jan Greathouse produced the "Uncle Al Show" in the early 1980's and says he'll be missed.

"This is going to be a tremendous loss to Cincinnati.  Because he was a legacy.  I mean so many children and parents and grandparents grew up watching this man.  And so many people today can still remember the songs that they sang on the show...I think it's just a huge loss," said Greathouse.

Mike Imfeld played "Lucky The Clown" and many other characters during the early 1980's.

"Absolutely the end of an era.  We're never going to have something like that again and it's a shame for the children not to be able to participate in something like that.  With the likes of Uncle Al and Captain Windy," Imfeld said.

Dick Murgatroyd spent nearly 30 years directing and producing for WLWT in Cincinnati and says Al was a great man.

"You know, we always hate to see folks like Al pass on Because that's the end of an era.  A major era in the Cincinnati area and we've been blessed because we really did create so many wonderful memories here in the Cincinnati market," Murgatroyd said.

"My condolences to Captain Windy and the girls. He is an icon.  He is truly going to be missed. And it was an honor for me to start my television career on the Uncle Al Show so I can have that memory also," said Imfeld.

"I'm really going to miss Uncle Al.  He was a special person to me and my heart goes out to Wanda and his daughters," said Greathouse.

He will be laid to rest on Saturday, March 7 in Hillsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cincinnati Children's Hospital at (513)636-4651, or click here to donate online.
