Since the garage is a fully-enclosed space, we installed a carbon monoxide detection system which includes a network of sensors, vents and monitoring units.

Our satellite truck, appropriately named the 9News Satellite Newsroom, has a separate parking space. It's a fully-functioning TV control room on wheels. It allows us to provide broadcast signal virtually from anywhere in North America.

Only on rare occasions will you see all of our news vans parked so neatly in the back of the building. Most of the time our videographers and reporters use them to cover the Tri-state area.

Each van is equipped with a two-way radio. It can also carry a small TV crew and its equipment. We have satellite trucks, news vans and remote trucks, such as the one on this picture with a big telescoping microwave antenna.

The nicely decorated vans serve as a driving billboard for our station. Notice a worker walking on top of the roof of the loading dock. It gives you an idea of the size of the space.

The 40-feet tall concrete and steel enforced retaining wall protects us from Mt. Adams. In order to accommodate our 145,000-square-foot facility, we had to cut into the rolling hill. Will our building qualify as a modern marvel?
