If you know of a family that may be on the edge of loosing their home, try to think of ways to help them help their pets.
If you need help, or may soon, with pets that you may not be able to keep...
*If you adopted from a rescue, check with them to see if they can take your pet back.
*Plan NOW, hopefully you won't need to give up your pets, but look for solutions for them right away.
*Make great flyer's with your pets pix & hang them in great locations. All outdoor flyer's can be placed in large thick plastic kitchen bags to weather-proof. Hang the flyer's at community locations, vet offices, churches, sports areas, parks, stores that hold pet adoptions, stores with community boards like Starbucks & Panera Breads.
*Contact all local rescues on Petfinder.com *If your dog is a pure bred, in addition to asking for help for a regular rescue, also lookk up the pure bred rescues of your dogs type.
*There are lots of apartments and houses out there that rent to pet families. Search for them. If they have weight restrictions, see if they can waive that... if they don't rent to pet families, try to persuade them into doing so. I have done both of the above, a positive persuasion can work!
*If all else fails, do not leave you pet in your abandoned home, or dump your animal in desperation. Taking them to the local shelter could result in an adoption but will result in food, shelter & love.
*Don't give up!!! Work until the last minute for a solution. Best of luck to you & yours. Many of us are keeping you in our prayers!
