WCPO-TV Will Provide Broadcast/Netcast Coverage of Staff Sgt. Matt Maupin's Funeral

CINCINNATI, OH – WCPO-TV and WCPO.com will provide complete live team coverage of the visitation and funeral of Staff Sgt. Matt Maupin on Saturday, April 26, and Sunday April 27. 

9News will be live at Lunken Airport, Saturday morning for the arrival of Maupin’s body which is expected to take place between 8:30am-10am.  Coverage begins during Good Morning Tri-State at 8am.  WCPO-TV will not interrupt children’s programming in the event the plane lands after 9am, but will continue streaming the arrival on WCPO.com.

After departing the airport, Maupin will be taken to the Union Township Civic Center in Clermont County where an around the clock visitation will be held for the public.  9News will follow breaking details from the vigil during the Noon, 6pm, and 11pm newscasts on Saturday.

Staff Sgt. Maupin will be moved from Union Township Civic Center to Great American Ball Park at approximately 7am, Sunday morning and 9News will be live with coverage at both locations.  WCPO.com will stream continuous coverage of the procession and arrival at GABP.  9News at Noon on Sunday will begin continuous programming of the funeral ceremony at Great American Ball Park which is scheduled to begin at 1pm and expected to last approximately one hour.

From GABP, Staff Sgt. Maupin will be transported to Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Montgomery.  Live coverage of the procession to Gate of Heaven Cemetery in expected to conclude at approximately 3:30pm.

WCPO-TV will not air the first game of ABC’s NBA playoffs doubleheader between Cleveland and Washington at 12:30pm on Sunday.  This game will be broadcast on WSTR-TV (Channel 64).
