Brendan Keefe Joins 9News Anchor Team

CINCINNATI, OH –Multiple Emmy award winning broadcast journalist, Brendan Keefe will join WCPO-TV as co-anchor of 9News at 5:30pm with Tanya O’Rourke on October 8th.  In addition to being a member of the anchor team, Brendan will also report for 9News at 11pm and for Special Projects.

Mr. Keefe’s background in broadcast journalism is rich with high impact stories and assignments.  His work for WCBS-TV2 in New York City has taken him to:  3 combat reporting tours in Iraq, Madrid to cover the Al Qaeda train bombings, New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and numerous regional and local breaking news events.

Brendan has numerous career highlights and awards which can be credited to his in-depth style of reporting.  His investigation of parking abuses by NYPD officers, in their personal vehicles, earned him 2 Emmy nominations.  His reporting during the Northeast blackout of 2003 earned him an Emmy for breaking news coverage.  And the weeks he spent in post Katrina New Orleans bringing attention to people needing aid, also earned him an Emmy.

Prior to working in New York, Brendan was a special projects reporter for KPRC-TV in Houston, Texas.  He moved to Houston from WFSB-TV, where he was an anchor and reporter for the Hartford, Connecticut CBS affiliate.   Brendan’s “Whistleblower” reports were seen by viewers of WJXT-TV in Jacksonville, Florida -  after brief stints at the CBS affiliate in Grand Rapids, Michigan and the ABC affiliate in Rockford, Illinois - where he began his broadcasting career.

Mr. Keefe is a dual citizen of the United States and Ireland.  He has a bachelors degree in English Literature from Kenyon College in Ohio and is married to wife, Tiffany and a father to their son, Ian.
