WCPO is the local spelling bee sponsor for the tri-state area. Top scoring champions from registered schools in Region I (Ohio) and Region II (N. Kentucky/SE. Indiana) compete at a regional bee held in February. The winner from each region receives an all expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C. to compete for the national championship at the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
Schools can register until December 18, 2009.
