Lance Barry is pleased to call Cincinnati home and to be able to work for a station that is as highly regarded as WCPO. He currently serves as the Breaking News Center Anchor for the station after nearly three years as a General Assignment Reporter.
Before coming to Channel 9 as a reporter, he briefly held the same position for the WB affiliate in the market. He has also had stops at the Fox affiliate in Rochester, New York and the NBC station in Hagerstown, Maryland, serving as both Anchor and Reporter. He was also an intern with the CBS affiliate in Miami, Florida.
Lance earned his Master's degree in broadcast journalism from "The U", otherwise known as the
University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. While there, he was honored as the college's outstanding graduate student. He was also the play by play broadcaster of the
Miami Hurricanes football, basketball and baseball teams. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in mass communication from
Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
He is a member of various honor societies within the field of broadcast journalism and his work has been recognized with several awards. He is also active in the community, serving as the head of the University of Miami Cincinnati Alumni Group, and is a
Ducks Unlimited volunteer. He also attends and volunteers at
St. Mary's Church-Hyde Park.

Lance grew up in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. His hometown is
Hammondsport, located on Keuka Lake. He is married, and lives in Hyde Park with his wife, and son Benjamin. In his spare time he enjoys golf, politics, his Labrador Retriever Reagan, and cheering for the 'Canes.
