Julie O'Neill

While being a gifted 9News reporter and anchor, Julie also comes from a rich musical heritage. Her family includes opera singers and concert pianists. Julie, a vocalist, studied at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in 1988, and minored in music at Louisiana State University.

"I try to approach my news stories from a very 'people first' perspective."

"People First" is the rule Julie says she follows when she goes out to report on a story. Because of her concern for the people she includes in her stories and those who watch them, Julie welcomes viewer responses whether they are compliments or criticism.

When she looks back on her growing career, two moments stand out. One of those is when she was fortunate enough to interview Mother Theresa. The other is when she accidentally spilled coffee on President Clinton. She says the President was not badly hurt.

She is especially happy to call Cincinnati her home because this is where she met her husband.
