Bill Fee serves as Vice President and General Manager of WCPO-TV, the ABC affiliate in Cincinnati, owned and operated by the E.W. Scripps Company.
Bill was born and raised in Cincinnati, and graduated from Walnut Hills High School in 1965. After a year in college, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1967, and served in combat in Vietnam as a rifleman with the First Infantry Division. Returning to civilian life two years later, Bill graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BA in German Literature in 1971, and received a master's in German Literature from UC in 1972.
He worked at the University of Cincinnati for five years, mostly as Director of Cultural Events in the student affairs division. In 1978 he joined WCPO-TV as Community Affairs Director, and three years later moved into the station's sales department as an account executive. Scripps Howard promoted Bill to sales manager of WMC-TV in Memphis in 1987, where he worked for six years. Returning to Cincinnati in 1993 as sales manager for WLWT-TV, Bill rejoined Scripps as WCPO-TV sales manager in 1997, and was appointed Vice President/General Manager in January 1999.
Bill and his wife, Sally, also a Cincinnati native, have two grown children - Emily and Evan. After working for 35 years as a registered nurse at several hospitals, Sally Fee has retired from Hospice of Cincinnati, and the family attends the Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church, where Bill serves as an usher and Sally sings in the choir.
Bill has been involved in the Cincinnati community for many years, having served on the boards of the Cincinnati Arts Commission, Epilepsy Foundation, Radio Reading Services, United Christian Ministries, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Cincinnati Union Bethel, the Boy Scouts, and is Past President of the boards of the Cincinnati and Ohio Chapters of the March of Dimes. He currently serves on the Boards of Cincinnati Public Radio (WGUC and WVXU), Winners Walk Tall, serves as Co-Chair of the Advisory Committee to the University of Cincinnati’s Electronic Media Division, serves on the President’s Advisory Board for Cincinnati Christian University, and sits on the board of directors of the Ohio Association of Broadcasters (OAB).
In 2004, Bill received the Silver Medal Award from the Cincinnati Chapter of the American Advertising Federation for his contributions to the advertising and broadcasting industry, and his involvement in the Cincinnati community.
