When did you start working here? September 2013

Where else have you worked? I was the digital content manager at WOUB News, a PBS affiliate in Athens, Ohio, from March 2012 to May 2013. I oversaw, edited and generated breaking, feature and long-form news content on woub.org and wrote television and radio news stories for various WOUB newscasts. Prior to that, I was a television reporter and anchor at the station.

I worked as intern in local and national newsrooms throughout college, including NBC Nightly News, The TODAY Show, NBC Weekend Nightly News, and WCMH-TV in Columbus.

Where did you go to college? Ohio University

What are you most proud of when it comes to your work? I'm most proud of my reporting on the hydraulic fracturing and water contamination debate, which I covered in-depth for nearly two years. I produced "Glass Half Empty: An American Water War," an hour-long news documentary that follows six northeast Pennsylvania families who have been in search of clean drinking water ever since the natural gas industry came to town. We watch them attempt to navigate a complicated landscape, as the nation engages in a fierce debate about hydraulic fracturing and its impact on drinking water resources. I earned a first place Mark of Excellence award from the Society of Professional Journalists for one of my first in-depth reports on the issue.

I am also proud of my ability to tell important stories on multiple platforms. I enjoy using video, text, graphics and photography to enrich my stories and to meet the different needs of news consumers today.

What are you most proud of in your own life? I'm proud of being a journalist. It's empowering to share other people's stories, and it's humbling when your coverage inspires others or sparks change.

What do you love about living in the Tri-State? I've only lived in the Tri-State for a short time, but I have been impressed by the eclectic communities here and the love that the people have for where they're from.

What are your favorite local hangouts/places, sports & cultural institutions? I enjoy hanging out in Covington and occasionally downtown. I'm a huge Bengals fan and try to go to as many games as possible.

All time favorites (movies, music, books, shows, etc…)? TV Shows: Scandal, Greys Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother, Law & Order SVU. Music: Incubus, Stone Temple Pilots, Eric Church. Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake -- and many more! Movies: Zero Dark Thirty, Gran Torino, Almost Famous, Act of Valor. Books: A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Kite Runner
