When did you start working here? December 2007

What other positions have you held here? Web producer/reporter/photographer KyPost.com and multimedia journalist, 9 On Your Side

Where else have you worked? After getting my start at a small Dayton-based newspaper chain in 2002, I gained experience and another degree while living in Chicago. I worked for several newspapers and magazines, including "Satisfaction" magazine with the Tribune Company. I have written columns, features, investigative and breaking news. I have worked for newspapers, magazines, radio, TV, websites and public relations. I write, photograph and shoot video -- whatever it takes to tell the story.

Before rejoining the WCPO Digital team, I taught writing at Chatfield College and was a freelance writer for Soapbox Cincinnati and Story magazine. I have contributed to several news outlets nationwide, including Fox News, Nancy Grace, MSNBC and People magazine.

Where did you go to college? Columbia College Chicago, MA Journalism (Public Affairs Reporting) and Wright State University, BA English (Professional Writing)

What are you most proud of when it comes to your work? I have won multiple awards for my composition and design, as well as photography, video and writing/reporting. Most recently, I am proud of winning the 2013 Camilla Warrick Award, for public service reporting, from the Society of Professional Journalists (Cincinnati Chapter) for my work, "Piner woman given hope after the storm" with WCPO-TV, which helped a woman gain the steps to rebuild her life after a tornado hit her home.

I am also proud of my 2012 Emmy nomination from my first year in TV as a multimedia journalist, for my work as a human interest/features reporter.

I have produced three, award-winning, live courtroom blogs, covering local murder trials like Cheryl McCafferty, Anthony Kirkland and Ryan Widmer. The Tri-State was captivated by these trials, and I was able to keep them inside the courtroom throughout the weeks-long trials.

I am also proud of my work on KyPost.com's, "Voices from the Cold," when I met and told the stories of some of the homeless staying at a Northern Kentucky cold shelter through black and white photography and audio slideshows.

What are you most proud of in your own life? One of my greatest accomplishments, besides my family of course, has to be running the Chicago Marathon in 2012… yep, that's 26.2 miles! That's why I have those numbers tattooed on my left foot.

What do you love about living in the Tri-State? I love the Reds, cheese coneys and the ability to stroll across the river for some southern hospitality. As a Cincy native, I have enjoyed watching the communities build into a sprawling metropolis as well as individual, trendy neighborhoods on both sides of the river. Plus, there's nothing like catching a ball game and watching riverboats float by as the fireworks pound the sky.

What are your favorite local hangouts/places, sports & cultural institutions? I love the outdoors and hanging out on either side of the river, including Eden Park, Newport on the Levee, Northside and Mainstrasse--or anywhere with live music outside in the summer time.

All time favorites? TV: Dateline, 48 Hours Mystery, 20/20, The Newsroom, Dexter, Golden Girls, Blue Bloods, Sex and the City, Forensic Files, Revenge, The Mentalist, The Walking Dead, Scandal, Law and Order: SVU, Friends

Movies: Good Fellas, Twilight, Hunger Games, Silver Linings Playbook, The Butterfly Effect, Fight Club, Momento, anything Nicholas Sparks, Gone with the Wind, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Seven, Halloween
